What We Do
About

Wadahi Farms is offering a revolutionary way of farming, crop building, and plant processing that will have a tremendously positive economic impact on Nigerian’s  livelihood and that of most of West Africa and potentially the world.

We have enlisted the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA-CGIAR) to ensure that the most sophisticated developers, leading scientists, and crop experts are intricately involved in the expansion of the following markets in Nigeria and surrounding regions:

*High Quality Cassava Flour (HQCF)
§Starch (Industrial and Edible)
*Bio Fortified Vitamin A Garri,
*Polished Rice
*Aflatoxin Reduced and Bio Fortified Vitamin A Maize,

The Farm currently cultivates a total of 625 hectares of farm land with the potential of expanding to 1500 hectares in the next two years and has a long list of about 300 dedicated out growers within Kogi State

Wadahi integrated farms is registered with the  Nigerian Cassava Growers Association (NCGA) and the National Cassava Processors and Marketers Association (NICAPMA). We are an Aggregator in the ongoing Nigeria AflasafeTM Pilot Project Challenge that aims to encourage maize Aggregators in Nigeria to work with (and to provide incentives to) smallholder maize farmers in Nigeria to adopt AflasafeTM, a technology shown to reduce Aflatoxin contamination of maize by up to 99%.

We are a member of the board at ICSAN ( INDUSTRIAL CASSAVA STAKEHOLDERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA) and are making steps to join the NIGERIA AGRIBUSINESS GROUP (NABG)

Did You Know?

Aflatoxin is a poison produced by a fungus called Aspergillus flavus which resides in soil and dead/decaying matter in the field. It contaminates 25%+ of maize and groundnut crops produced in Nigeria and It is very dangerous to humans and animals. Aflatoxin affects many other crops, such as cassava, yam, and rice while it causes liver cancer, suppresses the immune system, and retards the growth and development of children. Aflatoxin-contaminated feed and food causes a decrease in productivity in humans and animals and is sometimes fatal. Aflatoxin-infected crops are forced into low-value markets or destroyed. Aflatoxin damages our health and business opportunities. Aflatoxin cannot be seen—it is a colorless chemical. Aspergillus flavus is green Grains without visible signs of A. flavus may also have high amounts of aflatoxin.

What is Aflasafe?

AFLASAFE contains a mixture of four atoxigenic strains of A. flavus of Nigerian origin. Colonized sorghum grains hold a few nanograms of the atoxigenic strains. AFLASAFE is broadcast on fields at 10-20 kg/ha 2-3 weeks before flowering of the crop. Within 2-3 days, the atoxigenic strains sporulate on the sorghum; this continues for up to 3 weeks. The atoxigenic strains colonize organic matter and other plant residues in the soil in place of the toxin-producing strains. Spores of the atoxigenic strains are carried by air and insects from the soil surface to maize cobs displacing the toxin-producing strains. Atoxigenic strains in AFLASAFE compete with strains that produce large amounts of aflatoxin and in so doing limit the amount of aflatoxin produced.
